We doContent Management Systems
Our Philosophy
To our clients: this is your website, and you should be able to control the content easily—that’s where an intuitive Content Management System is needed. We create and maintain CMSs (from the best available open source systems to custom, proprietary enterprise-level platforms) that are logical and user-friendly, even while incorporating advanced features on the backend. Our job is to facilitate a robust user experience in which the technology helps, not hinders, the management of content and ongoing CMS maintenance. Whether that means offering guidance, optimizing performance and flexibility, maintaining security, or building unique tools—we do it.
Why Clients Come to Us
Like anything one’s been doing for a quarter century, we’re good at building and integrating CMSs. Our approach is confirmed by user experiences, security, and performance that far surpass industry benchmarks and best practices. Our go-to platform is Drupal, but we have loads of experience across all open source platforms with a deep understanding of how each works from a technology standpoint. This experience and knowledge allow us to easily scale to needs, whether it’s a single site or a multi-site framework deployment. The result? CMSs that are intuitive, secure, and flexible, matched perfectly to the unique demands of each project.
What Sets Millennium Apart From Other Digital Agencies
We have no “default” setting—we always start with a client requirement, and we begin building from there. We’re also incredibly easy to work with: Already have a CMS? Cool, we’ll digest and produce (we’ve never seen one yet that’s given us any trouble); Need a CMS? We’ll deliver a rightsized platform drawing from our wealth of expertise and experience.
Although we prefer Drupal, we are CMS agnostic and can build on/with any platform that best suits the goals of each unique project. We enjoy pushing CMS tools to their limits (and sometimes well beyond), and we’re always tinkering under various CMS hoods to develop and integrate leading-edge implementations such as headless, APIs, and discreet UGC data protection.
Our History
Well ahead of Joomla, Umbraco, WordPress, and Drupal, Millennium hand-rolled custom content management systems for more than a decade before they became “a thing.” We first identified an obvious need, understanding that our clients didn’t want to fire up a purchase order every time they were faced with a simple text update on a web page. So we empowered clients with simple DIY tools that made sense. Decades of experience later, we work with the best, most stable CMS platforms while creating unique and customized experiences for our clients and their users.
Our Process
How do we start? At the beginning, of course. That means establishing clear goals, and then adhering to a fully collaborative process that ensures those goals are met. Each aspect of our clients’ expectations and desires are considered and discussed at length before we spend a single minute diving into the build. And then we get cracking.
We take a hybrid approach to development, constantly acquiring as much information as possible with the understanding that new requirements or unforeseen hurdles can crop up at any interval—and we stay prepared to deal with them. We work in a way that allows for scheduled modifications and updates (as well as anticipated curveballs) to the CMS build with minimal, if any, downtime.
This process fits neatly into our broader Web Design and Development process, with a few key differences.

Content Strategy
Understanding the different purposes that each social platform fulfills is the driving force behind our content strategy. We know that your consumer on Pinterest is not your whole consumer, and thus believe that content should be specifically tailored for each platform, not only in format, but also in objective. We start with your goals in mind and from there develop a content strategy that leverages the unique potential for success on each social channel. Because each social channel serves a different purpose, it’s likely that your fans are following your brand on more than one social channel. They may look to you for inspiration and beautiful imagery on Pinterest and Instagram, while following you on Facebook and Twitter for brand news and product deals. That being said, if your current content strategy consists of syndicating the same piece of content across multiple channels you may want to start thinking about diversification.
